Company History
turboMech GmbH & Co. KG was established in 2005, originating from the Augustfehn steelworks. Since its founding in 1872, the Augustfehn steelworks has undergone various changes in legal status and ownership, spanning entirely different historical eras marked by shifting economic, political, and social conditions. Throughout this time, however, the steel from Augustfehn has always lived up to its reputation.
A new era in the history of the plant began in 1989, when Peter Finkernagel took over the Augustfehn steelworks as managing director. Since 2005, the mechanical processing operations—previously part of the Augustfehn steelworks—have been handled by the newly formed turboMech GmbH & Co. KG, carried out with professionalism and a legacy of over 150 years of passion and industry expertise.

Expansion
Between 2006 and 2010, a new CNC lathe for parts up to 6 meters in length and two CNC-controlled traveling-column milling machines with a travel range of up to 8,000 mm were acquired.
Second Production Hall
The completion of the second production hall will increase production floor space by approximately 2,000 m².
